About PAHEF

Since our founding 40 years ago, the Pan American Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF) has believed that philanthropy is a core social value, and that such philanthropy can accomplish great things, including the highest possible level of health for all.

Contributions to PAHEF go toward reducing health disparities among and within the countries of the western hemisphere. We are an independent, philanthropic organization working to:

• Combat disease
• Lengthen life
• Improve health care services
• Foster health research
• Enhance the capacities of health care workers in the Americas through grant-making and direct program implementation.

• reduce inequities in health status
• reduce maternal and child mortality
• increase access to treatment and medicines for indigenous communities

PAHEF is a tax-exempt organization with public charity status. It is governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of health experts, business leaders, and academics. Independent of political or religious restrictions, PAHEF is free to work on behalf of all of the segments of our hemispheric community.
